I’m Roger, a veteran advisor with four decades of experience.
I’ve spent my career helping people protect the wealth they’ve built — without getting lost in complexity. Most financial plans are too long, too complicated, and full of noise. If it can’t fit on one page, it’s not a plan — it’s confusion.
I grew up blue collar in Elyria, Ohio. At 21, our family home was facing foreclosure. My dad had left, and my brother and I hustled through multiple jobs just to stay afloat. That taught me what financial pressure really feels like — and why planning matters.
I went back to college, played championship football, and learned discipline and teamwork. Those lessons carried into entrepreneurship and eventually into financial advising.
I work with people between 58 and 70 who have $500,000 to $3 million in investable assets. They’ve built something meaningful, but at this stage, a quiet pressure sets in:
“I’ve worked too hard to get this wrong.”
Some are still working. Some recently retired. Many are skeptical of “financial planning,” and I don’t blame them. Too many plans are complicated, product-driven, or full of charts that don’t answer the one real question:
Am I OK?
I’ve seen it all. I’ve guided people building wealth from scratch and those with significant assets through market swings, retirement decisions, and income planning. I know what works — and what doesn't — because I’ve been in the trenches for four decades.
I’ve also learned retirement isn’t just about money. It’s about family, balance, and life outside the office. I rebuilt my own life to make time for what matters: my wife, Faith; my kids, US Navy Pilot Lt. Hope E. Balser and Space Force 2nd Lt. Blake W. Balser, Missions Integrator; and my furry companions — Scamp, Copper, Ripley, Murphy, Lil Frank, and Miss Remi.
Sailing became my reset. I crew as mastman on two race teams — a J29 named Team Red Dog and S9.2, Smack Talk. Racing keeps me sharp, reminds me about focus, discipline, and teamwork — and it’s just plain fun.
The One-Page Retirement & Investment Blueprint™
That’s why I created the One-Page Retirement & Investment Blueprint™. One page. Four questions:
• Are you financially secure?
• Is your portfolio built to manage risk first?
• What’s the right Social Security strategy?
• What matters now — and what’s noise?
No hype. No jargon. No BS.
Four decades in this business have taught me how to strip away the noise and leave only what matters — so you can step into retirement with confidence, security, and a life you actually enjoy.
